Physical Therapy

Regain pain free movement.

Emily treats conditions associated with acute injury, overuse, surgery, and the general wear and tear of daily life. She focuses on identifying and treating regions of hyper or hypomobility in your body that lead to altered movement patterns and pain. She then gives you tools to facilitate your body’s natural healing process.

At your first appointment, Emily will evaluate your condition and develop a treatment plan with you. This plan may include consistent physical therapy over a period of months or just one or two follow up visits. She uses treatment techniques designed to realign the skeleton, normalize soft tissue, and strengthen functional movement patterns. All techniques are used with the goals of improving movement and function while reducing pain and disability.

Emily specializes in functional and core strengthening and building body awareness. She strongly believes in the body’s natural ability to heal if given the right conditions and encourages all patients to get involved in this healing process through education and self-treatment.

My husband ruptured his Achilles tendon and somehow, through the grace of fate, he was sent to Emily for physical therapy! That injury takes a long time to heal, especially as we get older. Emily supported him through the long process and was creative in her approach, always including whatever was helpful. She was able to meet him just where he was with patience and encouragement.
